March 21,2019. Trying to capture some interior architecture with difficult lighting. The sky was much brighter. Exposed for highlights and lifted shadows. Seeing the limits of dynamic range befor trying bracketing in post.

March 22, 2019. I went to the river at lunch to try and see what I might photograph. The sun was harsh and getting a pleasing color to the photo was difficult. I did get to capture this heron. I had what I thought was an amazing photo of it flying into the position you see here, but ultimately the photo was lacking in detail and seemed to have some blur, particularly on the bird’s face. But, I did get this and a few other photos. So, I guess I was working on “making the best of what I got” in trying to get a decent photo in challenging light. I also am trying to work on my Lightroom and Photoshop skills with this set. I had some great photos of this heron in another location, but there are beer cans and litter surrounding it (I hate litter). Anyway, I am finding I am becoming quite fond of photographing birds. There is some majestic about them and capturing them is quite thrilling.

March 31, 2019. Okay several days without a photo. Work has kept me from getting out to do anything meaningful. But I have been working in improving my bird photography at the feeders by my house. While I am still struggling to get birds in flight, I have been getting better at focus on birds. Also, I am working on some editing to improve the finish product.

April 1, 2019. I had the opportunity to get away from work and go to a local park. I was focusing on bird photography and some landscapes. This was one of two landscapes I took (the other can be seen in Nature). I really wanted to focus on picking a composition and trying to get the best single shot I could.

Nothing special to this other than an attempt to grab a decent street snapshot. Worker taking a break to check out the racing form at the horse track.
